Dating back to its establishment in 1969, Gem Travel & Tours is a growing travel company with strong financial support of our owners, one who is an established businessman in the oil and gas industry in Malaysia, listed in the KLSE board, and his partner in a restaurants & freight business. Both have been committed in this company for nearly 20 years.

Our Geographical location
Gem Travel & Tours is a growing travel company with over 20 professional staff working together for the past many years in Kuala Lumpur. We operate at an affluent community in Taman Tun Dr Ismail, 20 minutes from the capital city of Kuala Lumpur. Gem Travel & Tours is a IATA accredited travel company which is an issuing ticketing agency for all major IATA airlines in the world like Malaysia Airlines, SIA, Thai Airways, Qantas Airways, Cathay Pacific, British Airways, Emirates airlines, Air France and over 30 other airlines in the world.
Gem Travel & Tours are also the General sales Agents (GSA) for our own resorts in Terengganu called Gem Island Resort & Spa which is a private island on its own and Gem Beach Resort at Batu Rakit beach in Terengganu. We are the sales and marketing office in Kuala Lumpur.
Gem Travel & Tours is also the General Sales Agents (GSA) in Malaysia for the Royal Caribbean Cruises who also owns Celebrity Cruises and the exclusive Azamara Cruises; all are luxurious 5 star international cruises operating worldwide cruises in Europe, Alaska, Scandinavia, Russia, USA, Caribbean islands, Asia and South America. Since 2009, we had our very own inter-port cruise programs into Port Klang with the arrival of “Legends of the Seas”, a 70,000 ton cruise ship which can carry 2000 people on onboard. Since then, we handled more than 2000 clients each year on the Royal Caribbean Cruises.

Our travel company is managed by personnel experienced in, and sensitive to, local requirements – corporate or individual. TRAVEL SERVICES
Our main business focus is
- Corporate ticketing & travel support services, which includes airline tickets issuance, delivery of airline tickets, airline ticket amendments, airline tickets refund, visa applications, travel insurances, online tickets and general travel advise.
- Tours & Hotel accommodation. Our holiday packages are wide ranging, from groups to individual; from basic free & easy to elaborate comprehensive tour packages. From the metropolitan cities to the adventurous and the rugged terrain and jungles. From shopping experiences to the exotic and the mystical. We cater for all markets with very competitive prices. Above it all, it is the service that makes the holiday experiences memorable and exciting.
- Places to go: ASEAN packages, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, India, Nepal, China, Taiwan, Europe, USA, South Africa, Maldives, Club Med worldwide, Cruises to Alaska, Russia, Scandinavia, Caribbean islands, USA, Asia cruises from Singapore, Hong Kong and Shanghai and of course, our domestic tour packages in Malaysia.
- Incentive groups and M.I.C.E – every year we handled several incentive groups from several international firms in Malaysia. Our groups ranged from as low as 30 passengers to 150 passengers; specifically geared towards high end direct selling companies that offered a unique holiday experience. We are familiar in handling groups from insurance companies, brokers, bankers, direct selling companies and accounting firms. We have done meetings and conventions in Shanghai, Bali, Korea, Phuket, Langkawi, Vietnam, Turkey and Sabah.

DATO CHEE PECK KIAT - OWNER / MANAGING DIRECTOR
Dato Chee has extensive experience in the oil and gas industry in Malaysia. Presently he is the Executive Director and director for several public companies listed in the KLSE. As a man passionate for the promotion of his state in Terengganu, he has built 2 resorts to support tourism projects of the state. Gem Beach resorts sits on the serene and tranquil beach of Batu Rakit Terengganu and another resorts off Marang also in Terengganu, called Gem Island Resort & Spa. He sits also in several committees representing NGO’s and charitable organisation. He presently serves as secretary and committee of the Buddhist Missionary Society and the Inter-religion consultative council of Malaysia.
MR ROGER LEONG - DIRECTOR
Roger Leong is our director for more than 15 years and serves as advisor and director of Gem Travel & Tours. Roger has extensive experience in the freight forwarding industry and also runs several restaurant chains in Kuala Lumpur. With an incredible charisma and extensive experience in the food & restaurant business, Roger is constantly a man who leads by example and provide important inputs into the business.
ALBERT W H CHEW - GENERAL MANAGER
Albert Chew started his experience in 1988, upon completing his degree in business administration (BBA) and Marketing (DipCM) in Schiller International University London, United Kingdom. Albert left his first travel company after 7 years and joined Gem Travel & Tours and is currently the General Manager in charge of overall business strategy and policies. Albert has a marketing background and after extensive years of training & experience, he has pushed the company to another level; with innovation, technology and a fresh approach in human management.
SHIVANTHAN K. - TRAVEL MANAGER, CORPORATE
Shivananthan or Shiva, as he is affectionately known has extensive experience in corporate ticketing and corporate matters from over 20 years, working in the ticketing & travel department of Gem Travel & Tours. He contributes immensely to our corporate clients in ensuring their travel journeys are handled professionally. He has assisted many corporate clients in managing their travel portfolios in and outside of Malaysia, and these include the CEO’s, MD’s, CFO’s, GM’s and Chairman of many listed companies and major corporations. His personal touch and approachable manner has raised the profile of Gem Travel & Tours.
IRENE MAH - FINANCE & ADMIN MANAGER
Irene Mah started his career as an accountant with several multinational firms which includes IT and advertising. Since joining us in 1993, she has been instrumental in managing our finance and budgets; including the expansion of our travel business to what it is today.
LET BOON WAAT - BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER/ CRUISE
Mr Let started in the travel trade more than 25 years ago and has extensive experience in handling airlines, overseas operators, clients and hoteliers. He spearheads our business development including heading the Royal Caribbean cruises worldwide in Malaysia.
GOON WEI HOONG - MANAGER, INCENTIVE & M.I.C.E.
Mr Goon joined us in 1994 and had since been our product champion in our tour department. He has extensive experience in tour development and now looks after our incentive & M.I.C.E. division.
....... plus 20 support staff who are well trained and experience in the travel trade. Together we are housed together in a 3 storey building owned by us, and managed by us, in an affluent area of Taman Tun Dr Ismail, 20 minutes from Kuala Lumpur city centre.
