Sarawak, a Malaysian state on Borneo, stretches along the island’s northwest coast, including many beaches on the South China Sea. It's known for the rugged, dense rainforest of its interior, much of it protected parkland. The capital, Kuching, is a bustling city set on the Sarawak River. Its 19th-century landmarks include the Astana, former palace of the White Rajahs, and Fort Margherita, built to thwart pirates.
Don't miss the Kampung Annah Rais, a large Bidayuh village centered around a centuries-old bamboo longhouse, one of the finest still in existence. The Bidayuh make up about 8% of Sarawak’s population, formerly known as Land Dayaks. They are gracious hosts and village is the perfect place to discover Bidayuh culture and learn about their fascinating way of life.
Visit the Sarawak Cultural Village for a cultural & historical experience, see the famous Semenggong Orang Utan sanctuary and buy some pots at the Pottery factory.
In Kuching, why not do a food trail of sampling Sarawak Laksa, hand-made beef noodles, Kolo mee, Mee Suah or popular seafood eateries.
For leisure, why not lay easy at Damai Beach where you can watch the sunset & dine with your loved ones. Enjoy !
